Wondering what to donate?

Used Clothing

We need gently used clothing and shoes of all sizes for men, women, and children –including maternity clothing.

• Specialty sizes (extra-large and tall) are greatly needed.
• Business attire for men and women (suits, shirts, ties, scarves, etc.)
• Donations of coats, hats, and gloves are needed during the winter months.

We ask that all donations of used clothing are clean, of good quality, and are ready to wear (no repairs needed). Please sort, box, and label all clothes according to gender (men, women, or children) and mark the box as “used.”

New Clothing

Donations of new clothing are always appreciated, especially in the following categories:

• Undergarments for men, women, and children
• Socks and panty hose
• Baby clothes

Baby Items

Donations of baby items – such as cribs, strollers, highchairs – can mean so much to a family who has so little. We ask that all baby items be new.

Furniture

Due to seriously limited space in our warehouse, donations of furniture are accepted according to immediate need. We ask that donated furniture is clean, in excellent condition, and ready to place in an apartment or home.

Housewares

Items essential to setting up a home – such as pots and pans, lamps, bedspreads, etc.— are accepted according to immediate need. We ask that donated housewares are clean, in excellent condition, boxed, and labeled with contents clearly marked. If you have items you would like to donate, please email rmoeljono@urm.org or call 213-673-4875. We will let you know what items are needed and provide instructions on how to deliver or ship your donation to URM. We will gladly provide a receipt (acceptable for tax purposes) for your kind and generous donation.

Vehicle Donation

Thank you for your interest in donating your used vehicle to Union Rescue Mission. It’s a simple way to save the hassle of selling a used car. You’ll receive a great tax break while helping people who are experiencing homelessness. Proceeds from the sale of your vehicle will help provide:

• Hot, nourishing meals
• A safe place to sleep
• Life-saving health care
• Clean, warm clothing
• Counseling and job training
• The Good News of God’s love

Simply donate your car, motor home, motorcycle, or boat – whether it’s operational or not – to URM. We comply with IRS rules and regulations governing vehicle donations made to nonprofit organizations.

   Tuesday – Thursday 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.;

2. We will arrange FREE pickup of your vehicle at your convenience – within 24 hours of your call. We handle all the work to save you time and paperwork.
